The Bristol Choral Society, Gloucester Choral Society and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra join forces to perform two contrasting monuments of nineteenth Century French music.
The beautiful and unforgettable Requiem of Faure will be performed in its full ‘symphonic’ version, adding colour and warmth to the more frequently performed chamber ensemble version.
At the sound of the majestic opening chords of Berlioz’s Te Deum, any listener will understand that they are at a performance of a musical epic of almost unparalleled power. Conceived on a vast scale, it is written for two adult choruses, a children’s choir and full orchestra. It is an awe-inspiring, astonishing work; as intense a portrayal of the wonderful text of the Te Deumas has ever been written.
