Taking place at JPMorganChase’s Bournemouth campus, the special event included an afternoon tea, with guests encouraged to get up and dance if they wished.
The selection of well-known songs was designed to spark memories and conversation, as well as encourage participation, with classics from My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins and South Pacific all making an appearance – in addition to popular songs, including A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square and Moon River.
Seeing three of Dorset’s leading organisations unite for this special afternoon to celebrate the power of live music and community was particularly special. During the interval, guests were also treated to a performance from JPMorganChase’s staff choir.
As a registered charity, the BSO works with corporate partners to bring to life music-making opportunities for all ages. The Orchestra enjoys a positive relationship with JPMorganChase and recently launched a new partnership with Care South, a not-for-profit charity.
Dougie Scarfe, the BSO’s Chief Executive, said,
“There’s nothing like music: it unlocks memories and propels us to dance, to sing and share in stories with those around us. Watching our special guests as they enjoyed the afternoon was a fantastic experience and a wonderful example of not only the power of live music – but in what communities can do when they come together. We’re deeply grateful to our partners at JPMorganChase and Care South for working hard to turn it into a reality.”
