1. A Musical Inspiration

   

   The German violinist Christian Tetzlaff is recognised today as one of the most inspiring musicians of his generation. He has been engaged by many of the world`s leading orchestras including the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic, the Boston and Chicago

2. HSBC In Tune With BSO

   

   HSBC Bank is sponsoring the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) to the tune of almost £100,000 over three years. With this agreement the bank, which has sponsored the BSO on a rolling annual basis for the last seven years, is making a longer term financial commitment

3. Hong Kong Tour

   

   Last summer the BSO were invited by the Hong Kong cultural department, to be resident orchestra for the annual Midsummer Classics Festival. The festival took place between the 6th & 12th of August; over the six days the Orchestra performed four concerts at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Kowloon, with two further performances in the New Territories towns of Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun

4. Coming Home

   

   Duncan Riddell is looking forward to coming home. Hailing from Bournemouth, this local boy done good will return to the town as the new Leader of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra

5. GRAMMY Nominations for BSO

   

   Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra has been nominated twice for this year’s Grammy Awards. The first nomination is in the category of ‘Best Orchestral Performance’ for their recording of William Schuman’s Violin Concerto; New England and Triptych/Ives Variations on ‘America’.
