1. Masterful melodies

   

   Join Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra as they play five extraordinary pieces of music - by Verdi, Masacagni, Elgar and Rachmaninov - at Bournemouth Pavilion on 16 March.

2. Inside the Score

   

   On 2 March 2013, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is to open its doors for a day of music-making which will give a unique insight into writing new music for a symphony orchestra. Following a call to composers for music scores to be submitted, over 60 scores were received by the Orchestra and eleven have been chosen to be part of a celebratory South West Composers day, to be held in Poole.

3. Rusty Revival

   

   Twenty violins, ten cellos, sixteen clarinets ....the Rusties return to Portsmouth! Over 100 amateur musicians join the full BSO for the performance of a lifetime.

4. BSO Blast!

   

   Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra receives an education grant of £140,000 from J.P. Morgan, to be used to inspire music-making in schools and communities across the South West Bournemouth, Poole, Dorset, Torbay and Cornwall to benefit in first year of BSO's new three-year initiative

5. The Nutcracker and other stories…..

   

   The BSO starts the Christmas season in Poole and Portsmouth with fairy stories and ballet favourites – plus a giant! Join us for a journey into the woods with Hansel and Gretel, before meeting a very selfish giant and visiting the snowy magical worlds of Sleeping Beauty and the Nutcracker Prince.
