This placement will provide invaluable experience in arts management and administration and is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to have a career in the arts, whether as a performer, teacher, or administrator. Although an interest in music is desirable, we welcome applications from young people with an interest in any creative medium, including performing arts, dance, visual arts and craft, filmmaking, photography and digital media. Please note, this is not a performance-based work placement. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a telephone interview and only a number of applicants will be selected for the work experience.
Our work experience week will take place from Monday 17 – Friday 21 May 2027. More information about how to apply will be shared early Spring 2027.
I found that it has heavily broadened my knowledge of how a large organisation/charity works. Everybody at the BSO was so friendly and welcoming, and I do hope to return one day in whatever form that may be.
