BSO Music-Making Competition is back

Do you play an instrument just for the joy of it? The BSO Music-Making Competition, sponsored by Lark Music, is your chance to turn that passion into prize money. Open to non-professional musicians aged 18+ across the UK, there is £3,000 to be won across three age categories (18-24, 25-39, and 40+).

Any instrument and all genres are welcome, from classical and rock, to jazz or even your own composition. All you need to enter is a live, one-take video of your performance, up to three minutes long. Our judging panel isn’t chasing perfection – they want to see control, creativity, and a performance that connects. Think you’ve got what it takes?
